{I know this editorial has been featured on many blogs, but I just couldn't resist adding it to my own as it has everything I adore in an interior... exquisite moulding, gorgeous natural light, understated furnishing paired with sublime chandeliers, the most beautiful fireplace (living room) I have ever seen and a claw-foot bath... sigh, xo}
{... hope you had (and are still having, for my American friends) a fantastic (long) weekend?... what better way to start the week than with the lovely Heather Marks donned in a gorgeous sheer chantilly lace dress (by Brioni), a viscose top and viscose/polyester-blend short (by Max Mara) and knit lace cardigan and skirt and satin bra top (by Chanel)... have a wonderful Monday in your area of the world!}
{isn't this DIY scarf dress absolutely gorgeous?... I have always loved scarves and love wearing halter tops in summer from scarves... now with this ingenious DIY, I can also put my scarves to another use and wear them as a dress... love it!}
{...to begin with start with approximately two 31" square size scarves and pin together...next, create an hour glass shape (portioned to your body and wide enough to slip in and out of); the hourglass shape is not sewn in straight (vertical) alignment with the sides of the scarves ~ instead, it is placed at a slight (left-hand) bias. this is important to establishing the asymmetric effect of the finished product... sew together...}
{...mark on both sides of the dress (either with thread or tailor's chalk) where your straps will go.... plan on placing them approximately 10" apart using either your grommets or a needle & thread... attach 2 chain straps (it's up to you whether these match or not)... the shorter strap (to be worn on the right) should measure about 8.5" long; the longer strap (to be worn on the left) should measure about 12-13" long} {finished product should look like the photograph below...pay attention to how off-center the straps are ~ this placement is paramount to achieving the correct drape...} {all photographs and (more detailed) instructions taken from here...}
{...adoring issue five of Rue Magazine... the layout is sublime, love that it has included a video (like in the previous issue) and the features are gorgeous; especially love the dark dining room table with the ghost chairs...well done! xo}
{...a bit late today in posting, hoping your week is off to a great start... absolutely love these painted gray doors and windows, a perfect alternative for those hesitant in painting their walls gray...xo}
{hoping your weekend is as lovely as mine is so far... spent early Saturday morning leisurely sipping coffee from my new 24-carat French press coffee-maker, while pursuing the internet and listening to great music, then a bit of gardening and am now ready to have a healthy salad, vegan pâté with whole wheat baguette and a crisp glass of rosé wine! {p.s. as always, appreciate greatly all your lovely comments during the week!!} Have a great day!}
{have always believed that accessories make an outfit, whether it's an exotic belt, a multitude of single bangles, or shoes; this editorial embodies my belief that with a few well chosen accessories, which can be as simple as a belt in a vivid colour, can dramatically change the look of an outfit for the better... have a wonderful Thursday in your part of the world!}
{these beauties are one of the loveliest platforms I've seen in some time... I love the laid-back attitude of these shoes... yes, shoes have personalities! the black and white stripe heels in rope combined with the black suede straps are absolutely beautiful... from YSL no less!}
